Giving a title to a book is an invocation, so that inspiration hits the mark.

Walterji had been working for years on collecting contributions from Swamiji's pupils. A huge job, that held together the threads of time and geographies, to make a book, an offer, that it contained the teachings received not to fix or contain them, but to revive them.

Students and practitioners in recent years have done research, they dug through the notes, in memory, among the photographs. They put their experience into words, they translated it into drawings, in prayers.
And Walter waited, collected, in turn he wrote, he remembered, he practiced and transmitted. Always in a dialectical confrontation, in a deep listening so as not to make the stories a single story, but to see how many voices, sometimes even discordant, could resonate together harmoniously, create a symphony.
This is perhaps his greatest gift, the love of putting together, of believing in “e-e”: somehow a very Indian attitude.

And so we got to the end of 2019 and the need to start “work for the book”.
The images alone were already more than 400 and little time available. It would take a long time to make them all.

And then the 2020, and at its very beginning, we found ourselves in quarantine.
Suddenly that sense of time has changed. We no longer had lessons, that we have not realized on line, and many of our works, especially those of Albiji, they stopped. It was the right time.
The book like sadhana.

It has been a long month, dense, in which the days were divided into writing and revision, in comments to file sharing and phone calls. In comparisons between the text, which Manu and Sarah worked on with Walter – on different pieces of the book-, and drawings, which Albi worked on. Head and heart to keep together, stylistic choices, a line that did not betray the heard, experience, but that knew how to restore an authoritativeness of content, of practice. Not a technical manual, not a memoir. An offer.

And to do it well, we needed experience, the professionalism of those who do the book trade, and then Marina editing the texts with Manu, Sarah and Walter and Teresa on layout and printing with Albi and Walter.
in conclusion, a working group: Walter's ability to piece together again.

And so we arrived in the summer with a book that is a piece of art, a casket that contains precious pearls, or, the kriya of the Silent Yogi of Madras, that “collects, to pass them on”, as Walter writes in the book presentation.

A symphony of voices and contributions, able to resonate at different levels and to intercept all and all those who want to listen.

All these rumors reveal both the stories not expressed for confidentiality and modesty, both love that comes from having known the One who indicated the way.

Trusting that a direct and vital relationship can be established with practical matter, symbolic and spiritual of the teachings of the Silent Yogi of Madras, in these pages I have tried to return what I know and to give the opportunity to intuit its origin.
