"I had read much philosophy and religious history of India and I was deeply convinced of the value of the wisdom of the East." C.G. Jung

For those who practice Yoga but also for those who are passionate about philosophy and East, You can not miss a passage from India and from his personal and multifaceted philosophical system.
The traditions that have taken place in different periods, the influences on the forms of thought consequent to the facts of history, give us a complex web of paths, which in fact are named darśana, translatable Visions.
Hence the title of this path between the paths.

The word darśana [1] It is often interpreted precisely with the term "philosophy" although a more accurate translation would be the one that goes back to the etymology of the word matrix (drs – see): would be more appropriate, therefore, to speak of "perspective", "Viewing angle", "perspective (on the existing)”. The term has, however, been widely used just to indicate specific and different intellectual traditions. In parallel the same term is used in another sense, ie to indicate both the "contemplative view" that the devotee (bhakta) It addresses the image or representation of a god, is the benevolent gaze of the gods turns to the devotee.

Unity is the inability to see at creating misunderstandings and confusion experiential, causing the indistinguishability between perishable and imperishable, between pure and impure, between discomfort and ease, between self and non-self, which is summed with the term avidyā [2]. Translated often with "ignorance", It is actually more properly translated as "not to see how things are"; blurred, mental darkness, that has to do with the view: we always talk of a see or not see, of a capacity of cognition and discernment which is precisely Vidya, generally translated as "knowledge".

From this introduction, therefore, emerges as the eastern conception of the "philosophy" is to be considered a real practice that has to do with the look, with the way of seeing things, and has as its aim the upheaval of the ordinary look. The term "philosophy" within Western (philo-Sophia, love of wisdom) is thus, inappropriate to describe the system of Indian thought which refers more clearly to an "understanding" visual perspectives of the many wide open about the reality (only) [3].
Only Yoga contemplating a real psycho-physical dimension, thus where the body practice finds support from a practice "theory" which tries to move the ordinary eyes to a vision "discriminating", It is really able to turn towards the light to overcome the darkness of misunderstanding and confusion.

PATH
So we thought of a path divided into modules, Preparatory but released each other, that allows anyone to approach the philosophical views of India in the most appropriate mode.
During the walk we will be made conditional by * Laura Liberal and Silvia Patrick that will integrate their visions to help us enter the complex maze of terms and images.
The choice of the modules is clearly presents as an introduction to the complexity of corpus Indian historical and philosophical: Laura Liberal lead us from a historical perspective to darśana main, then passing through a deepening of tradition tantrica Kasmira and a guided reading and commentary of the famous text Bhagavadgītā.
Silvia Patrick will then help us to deepen the theme of philosophy as a practice with a reading of some verses from the text Yogasūtra di Patañjali.
Ample space will find the comparison and any free time, exchanges and questions. We made conditional * herbal teas and some candy and we will take all the time you need.
